"Well-made tool that really works! Over the years the edges of the grooves on my clubs seem to lose their bite. This tool really made a noticeable difference!"
"I put it to the test on my clubs that are over 4 years old. There were some sticking points on the grooves and the Groover worked them out just like they said it would."
Independent tests show that after 75 or more shots with two-piece balls, traditional wedge grooves suffer a significant loss of stopping power and back spin.
We tested wedges played for 125 rounds, 75 rounds and a wedge with sharpened grooves.

Improve your ball control, even with an old club, with the GROOVER golf club groove sharpener. Clean club grooves are key to better backspins, thus absolute control on where you want your ball to go.
It restores the bite of the grooves on your wedges giving you more spin and accuracy. Why more spin? It's simple physics my friends. On longer shots more spin results in higher, longer ball flight and softer landings on the greens. With shorter pitch shots a ball with more spin will "check up" and stop giving you more control. Performance increases up to +600 rpm
Prolonging the life of your clubs using our groove golf club sharpener means that you need not buy a new club to enhance your game.
If you are buying a used set of irons you should also purchase a Groover. With the Groover you will sharpen your old grooves back to life and old clubs will perform just like new. Buy your used set of irons with confidence knowing you will have sharp grooves soon.
I was a little skeptical even after watching some YouTube videos on groove tools in general. I'm a mid-handicapper, and honestly because of how I swing have never had a problem getting the ball to check with my irons (usually no more than a couple yards from a 5 iron to a ft or two with a wedge). I naturally have a lot of spin on my ball just with how my swing is. But this....wow! I sharpened my SW up to my 5 just to see... and let me tell you that with my SW I got true back spin from 40-100 yds out and my 5 iron was stopping withing 2-3 feet of the Ball mark on the green from about 195-200
The tool works exceptionally well. Very glad I made the choice to try this out. I have had my Pings for a significant number of years. Was regripping and decided to add this for the spring renewal. Glad I did, a number of years ago I had attempted to do just this with some cutting tools from a lathe.
What you have to accept with this item is it is a tool to improve / restore the grooves and is not something you use on the course to clean the grooves. I was also impressed that I was sent a email with a link on how to use it.
I have a couple of older Vokey wedges where the grooves are very worn down. I used this and saw a noticeable difference. It's not like you've got new wedges again, but for the price you pay it's worth it. I also tried it on a newer club with minimal wear and that also made a difference. Make sure you follow the instructions in the video and use some type of oil like WD40 and tape the edges of the club because you will have a few slips. It's a little hard on your hands because you want to apply a lot of pressure for a better cut.
Great product does what is says. Video instruction is well done.ive never sa ball. My wedge is a classic Wilson r90 Sandy Andy. (Circa 1960's) It is my go to club for a variety shots.. I have worn the grooves to a flat smooth surface. After spending some time working the tool the grooves came back. My first round I was able to hold shots from rough.
I used this on my old lob wedge, sand wedge, gap wedge and pitching wedge the other night. I played a round yesterday and I getting amazing spin on the ball. Wedges were spinning back like when they were new. A hint, I used Truetap Cutting Fluid to lubricate the grooves and it worked amazingly well. I highly recommend this tool.
Make sure you watch the video on how they suggest using the tool. I wasn't a fan of using oil on my club face so dish soap works fine as a lubricant. I might of got a little aggressive on my cleaning and could definitely tell the ball was spinning better since I used the tool. Worth every penny!
I have tried a few different iron sharpeners and groover works the best!! It's the size of an ink pen and it just does the job extremely well!!! You won't regret trying this!!
"I've had my golf clubs for years and didn't understand the importance until a friend of mine told me about these. I also didn't realize how much quality counts until I went through some of the 'cheaper' golf club sharpeners which would break or wear out way fast.
The Groover sharpener really made a difference in my game, so I was pleasantly surprised. This product also has some nice weight to it and is easy to hold while sharpening my golf clubs. The tip is super strong on this and didn't show any wear or break after sharpening my wedges and irons"
Wow! This thing really works. My favorite but very old sand wedge has a new lease on life. Back to controlling distance like it did when new. I could actually spin the ball and stop it quickly. Thanks
Amazed how nicked up the grooves on my irons were. This tool was very effective in cleaning, smoothing and sharpening them. Haven't used them yet, but they have to perform better. Also, this tool is very easy to use. Just watch the video on their web site.
After using the Groover tool the irons look like they did when they were new..only drawback is that the group of guys I play with all want their grooves cleaned and sharpened. Will refer them to the tools site to purchase. They will use it again.
Appears sturdy and well made, but it is new, and so far it is hard to tell if it is really doing anything. The instructional video was helpful.
Already used the Groover, after watching video. Tool worked as expected. Will order again if needed.
The product did wonders for my worn out Vokey Spin Milled Wedge. Use this product!!!
This Golf Club Groove Sharpener for Wedges & Irons is made to last and at a great price. I used the tool, as instructed in the helpful video and experienced favorable results in my very first round. I can't wait to play again or hit the driving range to see if it were a fluke.
Thanks for making this great product.
Great product, takes awhile to use it properly. Looking forward to see how my golf clubs react to new grooves.
As someone who takes care in maintaining his clubs, I found this product to be very useful for cleaning the grooves and sharpening the edges. I've used other tools before that are not robust in terms of their ability to get into the nooks of the grooves, but this product is able to do so. It is small and compact and easy to use -- plus it is good value.
Awesome tool. Very helpful in cleaning the groves as well as reshaping them to the original depth and width. I have also been able to get a few small knicks out of my clubs. Cheap way to get clubs to preform like new
